Tucson drifters special 20 year anniversary
Tucson Drifters 20 Year Anniversary
OUR MOTTO
"IT'S NOT WHERE YOU GO BUT WHO YOU GO WITH"
Twenty years later and still going strong. The Tucson Drifters chapter celebrated our 20th anniversary with a block party at the Rocky Mountain Motorhome Association Ramble held October 16-20 at the Pima County fairgrounds. As part of the festivities, our founder Bill Hohmann, was presented a 20-year anniversary certificate by RMMA President, Jamie Erickson. At the celebration block party, the Drifters had a good time with great food, a super local band, and entertainment from one of our members, Paul Spaeth, playing his guitar and singing his beautiful songs. We served dinner to nearly 100 people. This is a friendly group for sure that demonstrates Southwestern hospitality wherever we go.
The chapter is known for its wide-ranging travels from four-day weekends to
26 day rolling rallies. Traveling from Arizona to Texas or from Arizona to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tennessee, Virginia, or Branson, Missouri for a rally is not at all unusual. The annual rally schedule often includes four days at Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) Mexico.
We have been to many cities in Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and California. We have done several tours on cruise ships as well. We are a well- rounded RV Club who enjoy sightseeing, museums, good food, good times and best of all good fellowships.
For many of us, our second home is our RV and it goes wherever we set our destinations to.
Seven rallies are held from October to May each year. Excitement and adventure are always the primary goal. The chapter also hosts seven dinners each year at a local facility. Invited guests and prospective members have an opportunity to enjoy a good meal, learn about our rallies or learn new information on repairs to their RV's as well as meeting new and old friends.
With a membership of fifty plus coaches we are still growing after 20 years. There are four charter member couples who are still active and travel with the chapter.
